No one on here has ever mentioned having esophageal manometry done to see how strong their muscles are on their esophagus before having surgery. I guess I just assumed this is one of the test that they do before they perform surgery I'm not too thrilled in the test myself but I guess it has to be done so they know what all they need to do when they go in to repair the hernia.

I had the manomarty test done in the same appointment as the 24hr acid test.
The results showed my swallow was good and I would be OK with surgery to fix the hiatus hernia and reflux.
