Hiatal Hernia Pain

hi im 19 female and i have a large hiatal hernia. im wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same pains as me?? every morning i wake up i feel like im gonna throw up, and some days i do. it might be because i am a stomach sleeper, but every single morning! its so big if i push on my stomach i burp. i feel like the back of my tongue is gagging me. i have awful acid reflux. even if i dont eat sometimes my body forces me to dry heave. i am nausous 24/7. it has been a consent struggle with eating, or finding the right foods. so basically does anyone feel like they're entire hernia is in their chest and you just heaving

    It sounds like you have GERD -Big Time!

    My wife had the same symptoms which couldn't be controlled by meds. She had the Nissen Fundoplication surgery which relieved her symptoms, but gave her a problem with gas.

    try this in google ....Hiatal Hernia causing extreme fatigue???.... it should take you to a site called topix, I have pretty much all the symptoms that is mentioned on there including what you have said, im waiting for an op at mo, your not alone it will prob do you good to read through forum although it won't make it go away it might put your mind at rest a little, im so glad I came across that site, when you say a large hernia what size is it?

      Im not sure exatcly how large, all i know is it feels like its completely in my chest at this point haha. I have had the scope to find the hernia but i am also going to get a radiotion test where they watch your food digest for 90 minutes to see if your stomach is draining properly. What have you had done and what are your thoughts on the surgery?

    I no what your going through yes that was me mine was 8 in wide then went to 10 in my intire stomach slipped up into my chest the whole stomach it was called a paraesophageal hernia I have never been so sick in my life

      i have a paresophageal hernia also, what are feeling about surgry if you have not gotten it, and if you have how do you feel now?

    I had the best dr there is in Charlotte nc do you homework don’t let just and surgeon operate make sure your surgeon only does stomach because not all surgeons no a lot about paraesophageal hernias is a very serious surgery but I would do it again in a heartbeat only 3 or 5 % of the population get it it’s a complicated surgery so like I said make sure you have a great dr there was another girl on her that’s been very very sick after hers I haven’t seen her in awhile
