Hiatel hernia with esophagitis

I have a hiatel hernia. diagnosed by endo scope. it is giving me esophagitis. I'm on 40 mg of nexium and it's not helping. I don't know what to do as pain from esophagitis is bad. any help would be greatly appreciated

    Sorry to hear of your problem.

    I think this is a question for your doctor. I'm pretty sure that two months at 40 mg/day is supposed to relieve your sf symptoms. If not, it's back to see your doctor.

    Are you doing all of the lifestyle changes? Like avoiding trigger foods if you have any, not lying down within 2 hrs of eating. sleeping with bed elevated, wearing loose clothing, not smoking, losing weight if you are overweight.

    These changes are an important part if your treatment. For some people with mild symptoms, this is all that's needed.

    hi ,i have the same problem ,i had it repaired 12 years ago,yey 12mths ago it reccured, what happens now is, without warning ,not everyday,and only once in that day,somthing locks in my stomach,and i cant breath,its likeive been struck in the sternem, it lasts arround 5 mins,i get a tugging pain in my throat , then all of a sudden ,a twinge pain in the centre of my chest ,then its all back to normal ? it doesnt do it again,in that day ,and i can go for a week without it happening,but its scarey i take omeperasol 20 mg a day ,without it im useless
