Hiatul herina and bad heartburn

hi looking for any advice i have a hiatal hernia suffer from acid since my early 20s and meds always had it under control am on emeprosole 40mg at times took 80mg, but last six months heartburn is really sore and so uncomfotable not just after eating can come on at anytime of day or night..I had been reffered for a test takes 40 mins i was told then another small test and i would have a small tube coming from my nose i can remove this myself after tests, can anyone explain more about the test and is it to see what acid my stomach has i am really worried i maybe need nissen fundiplacation op are they maybe testing to see if i need this done ...thanks really worried ..
