Hiatus hernea

Hi all been reading most discushions about Hiatus hurneas and symptoms, was diagnosed with HH about two years ago and put on omeprozole but with other problems the HH was put to one side while the other things where sorted.I went back to Dr,s this week to try and sort HH out I have looked at the symptoms people have and the operations that are possible but the Dr said that HH operations are not done these days as the antacids over come all the symptoms so ops are not needed. My problem is when i look at everybodys symptoms the only one I reconise is the neck ache, but the main symptom I have and have had from day one is nausea in the middle of my chest.I,ve been on 10mgs up to 80 mgs of omeprozole per day and although it settles the acid it does nothing for the nausea so i,m going to have some more tests done to see if there is some other problem,Or does any one on here also suffer from nausea due to HH.any responce would be welcome.

its caused by the trapped gas in the hernia if you manage to express the gas the nausea goes too.
problem is it soon fills with air again yuk I Hate of all the symptoms this one as it stops me in my tracks I'm never actually sick I wish sometimes I was but it's really scary as it can stick around for months at times I get a couple of weeks off from the damn thing mainly by eating or grazing all day so there is no where for it to go I wish you the best of luck it is scary though when it goes on and on wouldn't bother with more tests really would just deal with it yourself happy days your not going mad stay sane if you can much love

I have clearly eaten the wrong thing but i am unsure whether it was the potatos sausages yorkshire pudding or greens. I am now swallowing loads of water to flush it through before i go to bed.
Before I had an understanding that it could be an hernia i was imagining that it could be a muscle disease like MS or MND so i do feel a little more positive now,

About 2 years ago I went to seey doctor because I just could not understand why I was struggling on my bike up the hills
Having cycled all my life.Ok down here in Eastbourne it is hilly particularly over Beachy Head but I just knew I could do better.
So he got his breath tester out and after blowing in it told me that even though he is younger he couldn't get the same result. So I went away convinced it was juste being overweight which was the problem. Now I learn that a flipping hernia can also make you breathless.
I have not even been diagnosed with having an hernia yet and I have had to ask for an endoscopy which the doctor somewhat reluctantly has referred me for at our local hospital.
I have tried to keep cycling but after say cycling 25 miles I really suffer after.
Even today I have fitted a shorter bar stem so I am more upright on the bike.
I just want to solve the problem and be able to exercise how I use to.
