Hiatus Hernia

Posted , 3 users are following.

I recently underwent a cardiac ablation after which i have also been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia i get breathless and experience chest pain on the lhs by my breast. I have been passed around from specialist to specialist as they seem to see me as some kind of cash cow.

Has anybody else had similar experiances?rolleyes

    Hi Alan,

I have just spent 10 day's in hospital after an attack of palpitations, which I have suffered from for years. I also have an hiatus hernia and the Dr at the hospital said hiatus hernia can cause heart flutters. I also get very breathless. I am now on Bisoprolol but they don't work for me, I am still having the flutters, breathless and chest pain, all of which are very uncomfortable. Before you had the ablation op did you suffer from palpitations/flutters and did the ablation work for you.

      Hi Merryl

I had flutters and one very bad attack of palpitations when i thought my chest would explode and before my op had 2 cardio versions which did'nt work since my ablation my heart seems to be behaving itself am currently on prednisilone.

      Hi Alan,

When I was in hospital the Cardiologist said I had Ectopic beats so I don't know if I could have the Ablation for this. What type of palpitations did you have and did you suffer from short of breath? I would have the ablation tomorrow if I could. I wonder if my hernia is causing problems too!

Hope you find the cause of your pain.

Only had palpitations a couple of times my symtoms was tightness of the chest but i did have shortness of breath. There is a theory that a HH can be mistaken for AF as the symtoms are very similar, Since having my Ablation my pulse and heart rythm are now OK but you need to talk to your specialist before deciding
