Hi Ozzie, I've just googled excess mucus production. One fella found out that the soya milk he was using caused it. He stopped drinking it and within 3 days had a 75 percent reduction in mucus. He found other foods that also caused it. Hope this helps.

I find lots of milk causes excess mucus for me , so I drink almond millk  .  All sympathies to your problem as my problem is not as bad .  Try and get your doctor to put you on something else .  I gave up PPI's and rely on Gaviscon Ultra now .

Many thanks for your replies Lansoprazole & gallee, i don't have any dairy as it upset me........i do have both gaviscon advance and peptac to take if i feel it getting bad, i am still taking Motilium 3 times a day and it does help with the regurgitation just not the mucus

You have my sympathy as I also have the hiatus and also reflux which have given me issues over years resulting in me bringing up blood for the last year, I've finally opted for surgery but find in the meanwhile that lasoprozole helps minimise the acid and resulting bleeding and Carbocisteine helps too but only when I'm having trouble getting up thick mucus.....  otherwise it just aggravates the situation!
