Hiatus Hernia - Flare up - Any tips to help

Posted , 5 users are following.

So HH has been behaving very well. But had a bad cold/cough and think coughing has caused a flare up.

The pain in my sternum/ribs and back is awful. Sternum is tender to touch.

I am now taking Lamprezole 30mg once a day.

Any ideas/tips to help pain and things to calm down.

THANKS

Have you been to a doctor to check if anything has changed regarding the hernia or if you might have pulled something coughing, or something like costocondritis is causing the discomfort, best to get it checked? You could also ask for a twice a day dose of Lansoprazole and perhaps Ranitidine to ease symptoms. Hope it settles soon.

Thank you for replying. Not seen doctor but had a endoscopy last year my second one as was getting a lot of discomfort. No changes, just had mild gastritis.

I have had HH 8 years. And its normally not too bad. But every so often get bad pain sometimes for a few minutes/hours or a days.

It is scary when its so painful.
