hiatus hernia-pain in chest and arms

Hi, can anyone tell me if they suffer from a sharp pain in the middle of the chest and pain in the arms from time to time. The pains do not occur during exercise, they also seem to be associated with belching a lot. I have a HH. I also am bothered with a feeling of fainting and being slightly disoriented. Does anyone else have similar symptoms

Your not the only one with these symptoms. I suffer with chest and shoulder pain and a feeling of wanting to be sick or needing to go to the toilet. I had an endoscope done two weeks ago which confirmed a HH and the consulatant told me that referred pain is a sign of a HH.

Yes, i have your symptons and it is a complete nightmare. take comfort from the fact that you are not alone in this. I have been to the doctors with pains in my chest, sweats, sore throat, hoarseness, and with a feeling of having a lump in my throat. He is treating me with Nexium which is making no difference at all. Sometimes i feel really well and other times i feel dreadful, to the point where it makes my life a misery. Hang on in there, we wil get through this together.

Yes I too have very same symptoms.

I was diagnosed a year ago but have been suffering with it for about 3 yrs now. I have attacks more and more these days in fact this weekend has been a right off. My back has been in a lot of pain and the pain has been spreading over my shoulder and in my chest and feeling breathless. I also get a very irritable feeling that used to lead to panic attacks before I new what was causing them. The day after when I start to feel a bit more \"normal\" usually feels a bit like a hangover.

Things I eat one week with no problem the next I am doubled up. I am on Nexium which seem to control the acid but thats about all I am fed up feeling tired and constantly under the weather.

I have another appointment with my consultant in a few weeks time but dont feel very confident as to him doing anything more.
