I would call the scheduler of the HIDA scan and ask specifically what meds you are able to take. They should have called you to pre- schedule and explained everything to you and what medicine to not take. I didnt take anything 6 hours prior to make sure it didnt interfere with the results.

I called and they just said no pain medications but i read that pepto bismol or zantac may interfere. I take anxiety meds so ill have to call and ask about that.thanks

Vivian your so close now to getting your answer, I know your anxious but please try and be calm. If they know your anxious they may give you something for it when you book in for the test. Stay strong and I'm sure people are thinking of you at this time but yes give them another call to see if those meds are O.K. I cant be sure but the Liver is your problem with meds as the Liver will react to meds maybe interfering with the process and ducts, that is only a guess mind you.

Have you had an ultrasound which is done to detect cholesterol gall stones? I have seen very poor images of my gall bladder even at out biggest hospital but have seen very clear images when a female operative came to our surgery....... I wonder if 'they' don't invite that company back to the surgery because of expense?

I felt it was a wonder any doctor could see the images on the screen at the hospital or was it the operator? In any case it may well be worth you researching ursodioxycholic acid which dissolves gall stones of cholesterol type =that is if you have been confirmed as having one or more?
