Hi there i would like to know how people deal with day-day things whilst dealing with high anxiety. It can be simple things like house work etc. I also wonder how to detract from intrusive thoughts xx

Hi Claire,  I agree with Lesley doing things like housework etc help a lot. If I don't do my housework etc (and I am more limited these days due to arthritis) then, I find that not only do I have the original anxiety but then am worried that the house needs sorting as well.  It's a vicious circle I always feel a bit more relaxed when things are done.  I don't know your age or circumstances but if you don't go to work try and make sure you

go out each day even just for a walk, and try to make time for yourself doing something you enjoy.  I sing in a rock and pop choir and for one and a half hours each week at rehearsal forget all my problems.  It does not last all week but it is something to look forward to which I love.

Take care and keep in touch with the forum.

Yeah I try to keep busy, if I have things to do in a day I feel much better as you dont

have time to dwell on things as much, I often go running also with my sister and that helps and I really enjoy that smile I think it's important to fill your day with things you like doing, housework can be quite therapeutic at times especially with a little music smile x
