Hi, My mother has hbp andit is normal with the pills she takes.

We stay in Switzerland every year but I would like to have some medical information about it and if she is limited in the attitude of staying in the mountains.

(I'm talking about 1300-1500-1700 m)

Thank you!

High altitude can only cause a little more hemoglobin production (erythropoeisis), so it should not affect BP level. With exercise there, it can actually be beneficial.

When we were going on holiday to Switzerland my GP said when I asked him that altitude could put it up. We went up to Jungfrau by stages and each day it got higher. Coming down by train in one day I felt it getting quickly lowering.

I had a similar situation in the Rockies.
