High BP

74 y/o female pt.

hx of high BP and cholesterol

Meds: Nadolol for BP. Lipitor for Cholesterol

On NYE, admitted to hospital d/t elevated BP ~160/130 and atrial arhythmia. Prior to admission, pt was experiencing repeated episodes of high BP.

During hospital course, pt rcvd CT of heart, brain, kidney, adrenal gland, and chest - findings unremarkable. ECG also normal. Blood work WNL. Did have elevated D Dimer (doctors considered insignificant). 24 hr Urine analysis WNL.

s/p hospital stay, pt given disopyramide for rhythm, and irbersartan for BP.

Pt is still experiencing bouts of q high BP (150s/90s) w/ symptoms of fatigue, lightheadedness, and increased pressure in head/neck . Any thoughts of what could be driving this?
