High C reactive protein from 5 years ago

Posted , 2 users are following.

5 years ago, I had a blood test related to concerns around swollen glands in my neck. The doctor never called me, and my symptoms had abated a few days after the test, so I never bothered to ring for the results. I assumed if something was terribly wrong, they would ring me.

I've recently registered for online patient services, and have seen there is one result from this blood test that worries me :

Serum C reactive protein level

Result

11 mg/L

Seeing as it's over five years ago (Feb 2013) is this worth following up?

And is this level so high that I should be massively worried?

    Hi

CRP is inflammation in the body.

It would be slightly elevated if your glands were swollen.  I imagine your glands were up as you had some sort of infection.
