High heart rate

Does anybody's heart rate go up just doing normal things?

Mine goes up just putting up the groceries. I work out 3 to 4 times a week and my heart rate gets up past 100 when lifting weights, then I get palpitations until I stop. Sometimes my resting heart rate is in the 90's, sometime 80. It's scary when I feel it pounding. I started some new supplements about 3 weeks ago, and they have helped, but this month has been horrible. I'm a week from starting and it's awful. ☹

Yes, hi Beth, I get that too. But mainly at night. My partner likes to put his arm round me when we're sleeping and it now causes me to wake up with a racing heart, making me feel quite panicky.

I started taking HRT about 3 months ago which did help but I've started to be more heat sensitive again. It's really unfortumate for my partner as he is very effectionate and likes to hug at night - and now I have to keep pushing him away.

In general I have been aware my heart rate is reasonably high - 80's or 90's when I'm working and stressed or 70's sitting down and relaxed. Used to be in the 60's.

I know what you mean, my husband tries to lay his arms or legs on me, and I feel like I can't breath. Wow, this is so awesome, I thought it was just hot flashes and some weight gain not pure hell. My daughter is 14 and I have some of the same things as her.Puberty all over again Ten times worse.

It's terrible. 6 years, Bless your heart. How do you do it? Almost a year has drive me nuts. I feel frozen, like I'm scared to do anything. And I am a very active person. I get them too when I do chores. Can anybody tell us this ends? I don't think I can do this till I die. I would like to get some pleasure out of life. Lol.

Hi Beth - yep me too. I've had an awful few months. Started to feel anxious last Oct and heart rate was higher than normal. Then started to have palpitations. Ended up in hospital with an SVT where my heart rate went to 210BPM for an hour. Was so so scary. I've had all the tests done and seen a cardiologist who assures me that my heart is fit and healthy. I'm currently on beta blockers which is slowing my heart rate down a bit. I used to run everyday but I haven't for a couple of months and now I'm scared to start again. It's an awful awful feeling when you know your heart is beating faster than normal. My cardiologist said that palpitations aren't harmful. Do yours make you feel anxious? What supplements are you taking? I take magnesium which is meant to help. Hugs to you. I know what you're going through xxxx

It is awful, I'm scared to do anything. I like to workout and now I'm anxious, because when I do legs it really gets high. It's almost like I don't want to get off the couch. Try not to get too anxious, my husband has SVT and when he gets anxiety really bad, his episodes can last hours. The Dr. said his heart is also structurally good. I'd like to know what is happening to everyone with all this anxiety. I've been taking Magnesium for a while. I just started Hawthorn extract and Motherwort. I have Passionflower for anxiety. I'm not really sure if anything will help this hormonal hell Lol. The weird thing is this started almost a year ago, and it was bad, then it got better, and now it's worse again. I thought the palpation part was over, guess I was wrong. Hugs to you too!

I understand exactly how you feel. I just want to be the person I was 4 months ago. It's so sad 😦 I also had this all start a year ago and it lasted a few months and then went and I thought all was good. But it came back with a vengeance in October. How old are you? I am 46. Would you consider taking HRT? I've tried before for 2 months but it didn't make a difference and I stopped but I now wish I'd persevered as it can take a while to benefit. I'm seeing my dr, who is also a menopause specialist, tomorrow so I'm going to see about starting estrogel and utrogestan again and giving it more of a chance this time. I don't think it can make me any worse that's for sure.

Do you mind me asking if your husband takes anything for the SVT and how does he stop an episode? I'm on beta blockers at the moment but been told to wean off at the end of Feb and scared it will happen again after.

The worse thing for me is the apple watch. I'm constantly checking what my heart rate is (currently 88 bpm sitting here typing which I think is too high and it freaks me out)!

I honestly never imagined that perimenopause would make me feel so awful. xxx

I'm 46 also,I don't think HRT would be right for me. There are a lot of breast, and ovarian cancer in my family. As for my husband, he has really bad episodes, he's even passed out before. The Dr. tried to give him beta blockers, but he'd didn't want to risk these side effects. He takes Hawthorn and Motherwort . But he's a fire captain, so he has a lot of anxiety and possible PTSD. He's trying to get moved to a desk job. Hopefully that will help him. The stress of him makes my stress rise, plus my youngest had cancer as a toddler, so you could say I'm pretty overwhelmed. I just keep pushing through. I hope you can find some relief, because this is definitely a challenging time.

Oh my gosh, you've had a lot to deal with. I hope the supplements start to work for you soon. Keep us updated and I'll also let you know if I find anything that helps. I always find it helps just knowing others are going through this hell too, none of my friends are struggling like me 😦

      Sending you much love xx

Thank you.I appreciate it. We can never have too many prayers for each other. I've always thought I'm stronger than I think.I guess all of this will be the true test. I'll update if the supplements work .I think it takes awhile for them to get into the system good.

God Bless and Have a Great Day.

    Hi Beth,

Yes, unfortunately I have this, too. I could just be sitting at my desk doing work or sitting on the couch watching TV. The worst is when it happens at night. Very unnerving.

You wrote about feeling like you're not able to breathe when your husband tries to lay his arm or leg on you. A couple of months ago my partner was coming up the stairs as I was coming down. I got so startled that my heart was racing and my hands were shaking for an hour! Ever since, he has to announce himself whenever he comes up or down the stairs. Poor thing. 😃

Just know you are not alone in this.

    Take good care,

    Dana

Thanks, it helps to know others have this, but I also feel bad for the ones who do. I've read were it doesn't affect some women, they just stop having periods. If we could only be so lucky. Oh well, maybe us going through this will make us stronger in the end.

I started trying a new collagen gummy and I think that messed me up again. When will I learn. Lol. I guess I'll just have to deal with wrinkles. I'd rather have them than a fast heartbeat.
