Hey guys is anyone experiencing high heart rate even when not anxious my heart rate stays at a steady 80 beats per when resting, before the anxiety happened I was around 64 is this a cause for concern or will this calm down when the anxiety slowly lifts. Anybody have any experience on this? Breathing exercises and meditation are nt helping.

I know exactly how you feel kerian, was your heart rate even lower before all this anxiety started?

Yes my heart rate was always normal...this anxiety is a horrible thing.....makes you feel like you're dying at times.... Want to get over it so badly......do you think it's ok to take Xanax....I'm so scared...

      Hi Kerian,

Definitely, take 1 if you need it, I try to only use 1 Lorazepam once a day to ease the anxiety and calm down. Iv'e been through hell the last 2 months and had no choice but to take some Lorazapam/Xanax. I am currently on Fluxotine 20mg a day and Zopiclone for sleep and appear to be making improvement. Eat real healthy, lots of veges and fruits. Exercise for 40 minutes a day and things will get much better, Think this is some that will take time, try to keep your mind off your symptoms. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Your heart rates ??, seem normal. If you are using a machine to check your heart rates, learn how to use it. If you are not taking readings correctly you will worry all the more and that will feed your Anxiety

Remember readings can be effected by walking running or even eating, that will also make worry all the more and your readings will rise all the more

      Hi BOB,

Thanks for the reply, I have been to see a g.p and psychiatrist and they have stated that my b.p is high particularly for my weight and height. Especially since I exercise regularly Blood pressure is also a tad high As I said my normal bpm is 63-64 as of 3 months ago before my breakdown. I realise my bpm will be higher when doing walking and eating but are concerned that my resting pulse staying at 80/85 over a long period of time is going to cause damage when it should indeed be around 64.

    Hello Mike

It will be all to do with your Mental Health, try and relax a bit and stop worrying. I know it is easier said than done. I had a rooten day today, I was near climbing the wall with people I did not want to see

    Take care, keep a hold

Mike my.  Heart rate is always 80 even resting the problem I'm having is heartbeat awareness while trying to go to sleep I'm very aware of my heart beating and then as I try to doze off something Childs me out of my sleep either my heart feels like it's stopping or I can't catch her breath that happens as I'm in twilight and about to doze off it's absolutely horrible  And makes coming to the terrifying. Sometimes I have to take Ambien to get on track but I found that running a half hour day and going to bed consistently early and getting up early does work

Its awful I can relate. Exercise definitely helps I agree Steve I generally do that just after lunch maybe I need to shift it further to night. When i go-to sleep...( Well try to ) just before I am about to nod off i get all I can describe is a mini panic attack and zaps me awake I have been to the doctors and psychiatrists and they all act as if your a nut. It's so frustrating. One doctor said she reckons it is indigestion. Couldn't believe what I just heard.

Problem with anxiety is we are hypersensitive to our bodies... So hard to break this vicious loop

Yes docs are clueless, I can tell you difinativly NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOU HEART, WE JUST NEED SLEEP.

i wonder how, many of us that have this sleep alone. I'm single and sleep alone. Maybe having a warm body helps.
