Hello Jackie,  You have Tinnitus now.  I've suffered same for many years.  No cure sadly.  My high pitched whistle is in my left ear.  A friend of mine has just been diagnosed with it in both her ears, which she thought came on through stress.  I've learnt to live with it, it's only when someone mentions it that I'm aware of it.  Obviously worse time is when one is quiet and in bed particularly.

Try not to panic about it as that will make it louder.  Millions suffer.  Google it and read what can be done.  The cause of mine I  know was constant ear infections.

Noted with thanks. I am trying to live with it but still pray that it will go away. Sometimes the ringing was in both ears but most of the time is on the right ear.

Tried TCM but it didn't help too. Generally i learnt that besides infection, stress is the other key cause.
