I noticed your user name is runmore... Is that because you like running?  Are you in good shap?.  If so.. then it's actually normal for those who are in good shape to have a slightly high RBC count...  Also.. lack of oxygen can also cause a slightly high RBC count, say if you have some type of lung disease or live in a higher altitude.  Another reason, which is very rare.. is blood disorder called polycythemia vera.  But that would cause very high hematocrit levels also.  So I would rule that out.  So.. being everything else is normal.. all looks good.  If your still conderned, I would ask your doctor for a repeat test in about a month, just to be sure.  I would say, if they are about the same, it's probably just your norm and if they continue to keep raising, then I would ask to be reffered to a hemotologist.

It is normal; a slight increase does not matter.

Are you living in a place that is in mountains ?
