Hints for pain relief for bladder prolapse

Posted , 7 users are following.

hi, apparently I only have a minor bladder and bowel prolapse and very minor uterine prolapse but if I do the least bit of lifting I am very uncomfy for days.  The main problem is a feeling of tugging or pulling above my pubic bone and the constant need to urinate.  Anyone any good tips for pain relief, I'd be very grateful for your help.

    Hi Helen,

I would have thought that this needs a second opinion, go back to your dr. Things dont sound normal and if its not prolaps rlated then there is something else amiss.  Persist, I was put off for years but finally got  a bladder lift and a rectocele and I havent looked back. I'm not suggesting that this is what you need but I do get very irrritated to hear of someone being fobbed off

    hi helen,

have you tried tryptozol.i take the smallest tablet cut in half.

at first until you get used to them, they make you sleepy.

sometimes i take an antispasmodic which are good.

a urologist give me some tablets to stop me pipiing all the time.

i think the name began with vag.

i panicked for three and half years about my left sided pulling pain and the bloat.

after numerous tests i still didnt get a diagnosis.

by that time i'd found the painkillers so resigned myself to medication until the worst happens.

even though my specialist appointments were 4 months between, you find yourself between a rock and hard place just waiting around and hoping to meet a specialist who may just care enough.

however i've got a life back.

if you've got loose poo, i have had good results taking vitamin b complex.

    take care

Thank you both, I will keep pestering the docs, can't go on like this for sure. I have used amitriptylene which is the same as Triptosyl I believe, it was great for my vaginal atrophy but doesn't seem to be working so well for this, my dr. thinks that is because it causes constipation and that in turn is making the bowel prolapse worse.  However, I may give it another shot and really up the roughage.

Hello. Your symptoms sound like my symptoms of stage 3 bladder prolapse. I had no obvious symptoms until stage 3. I believe I would get another opinion. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op for repair, but have residual bladder drop. Regretting surgery as I still have the problem. Lifting, squatting,  coughing or anything putting pressure in the pelvic areas cause the tugging and pulling and my bladder to drop more. Laying down or reclining Ina recliner relieve the pressure. As for urinating, if I go as soon as I feel the urge, it keeps the pressure off, waiting to go makes more pressure and then makes it harder to completely empty your bladder.

On another note, to help with the constipation, I have found that drinking about 8 ounces of tomato juice at night before bed is very helpful as well as eating fresh tomatoes. I also take probiotics in the morning and at bedtime.

    Hope you feel better soon!

    God Bless!

Think I will ask for a second opinion, there must. Be only so far it can drop surely?  I will also try tomato juice and pumpkin seeds, thanks.

Helen, a prolape can eventually drop so far it starts to protrude out the vagina area. I have had a prolapse bladder for over ten years and what keeps it from getting worse is pelvic floor exercises. If you start to do those and keep at it, your prolapse will not get worse but even may improve some. I have managed to live with my prolapse and avoid surgery. I cannot wear a pessary either so that is out of the question. I do wear a support to keep the prolapse from coming out. Between that, the walking and pelvic floor exercises one can live a reasonably okay life. There is life after prolapse if you set your mind to what you need to do to improve it.

                              Blessings to you

Just found this discussion...wondering how you've held out over the past couple years. I dealt with bladder prolapse 5 years back, and looked to be headed for surgery. However, I heard of Maya Abdominal Massage, and found a practitioner in my area. After 2 or 3 sessions, I could tell a difference, and after 7 or 8, I didn't have a noticeable prolapse!

I'm needing to go again, after a period of heavy stress.

Hope this will be of help to someone!
