Hip arthroscopy for labrum repair

Posted , 2 users are following.

I had hip arthroscopy a little over 6 weeks ago. I had a labrum tear and some cartilage damage. They did microfracture to repair the damage and sutures for my labrum. I have 2 anchors for the labrum suture. I could not bear weight until the 6 week mark, which was Friday. I still have pain in the back of my hip. The pain I had down the side is gone though.

Anyway I am ccurious who else has had this done and did it help? I am worried this pain in the back side of the hip may not go away. It hurts along that sit bone area. I am not sure how else to explain it.

Thanks

I had a labral tear repair and FAI repair done two years ago. Definitely helped with some of the pain but I have enough lingering pain that I'm considering a resurfacing. For the first year after the labral tear/FAI repair, I had major muscular pain despite physical therapy. If you are in PT right now (you probably should be), ask your therapist about piriformis syndrome. It sound similar to what you describe, though obviously you need a professional opinion. There are some helpful stretches you can do to work on that and probably some strengthening exercises as well.
