your only a few weeks out from surgery. it takes 6-8 months for the soft tissue to heal and regain strength. there is short term healing and long term after THR surgery.

short term is when you have mastered walking with a good heel to toe and stand up straight gait. when the surgeon will release you to drive. yet there are a lot of restrictions to take into consideration during this time. just walking is all you need to continue to heal. your body needs time , good quality diet, vitamins and rest. your body has been thru a lot and major surgery.

long term healing the soft tissue has generally gained back strength. no walking aides needed. most movements have little to no restrictions and your mind has forgotten about the surgery most days. there is very little reminder of any pain you endured in the past and your thankful for the surgery and for the opportunity to have a better quality of life. this is 10-14 months life is pretty much back to normal.

    sending healing vibes your way.

    Hello,

im at same stage as yourself albeit nearly 9 weeks post operative hip replacement on left side. Found it more painful recovering this time around from my right hip replacement in 2017. Due to being 4 years older and weight gaining! I found it took at least 18 months for my right side to heal completely. Patience is a virtue!!
