If you are reasonably fit and take the recommended precautions you should not have any problems. Perhaps if you explained what your concerns are someone would. be able to help. Cheers Richard

I have read that the number of dislocations is around 0.2%. Although it is higher for revision hip replacements.

hi. I've read after the initial op period being a risk the next time is abt 2 yrs. I dont know if this relates to which method of surgery or the % risk that ptomely talks of. I cant find any risk factors they think might cause it. but this thread will be interesting. thx for raising it

hello i am 37 had my first hip replacment in 2017 then 2018 had a revision cause the implant was too big 2 weeks after i had revision big dislocation in a resturant eating lunch with my daughter and i was just sitting there wasnt crossing my legs nothing and was so embarrassing been carried away in an ambulance and this resturant is my place of work but was off work for 4 months but still embarrassing the surgeon gave me no hip precautions after the revision either. i stayed in the towns local hospital for a day and half in emergency room still dislocated then finally rushed me to regina to put it back in. then 2 weeks after it dislocated again on my couch. dr finally said ok because i have hip dysplasia my shallow sockets the cap overlaps it so ill always be at high risk for dislocation i see surgeon weds to see whats happing next on the hip and now my knee might need a replacment too .
