Hip infection not talked about.

I was wondering is there out there who suffered significant infection a few weeks after hip replacement that required many visits back to theate,r a suture line from my knee to my hip and even though it is now 5 months later and after also having septicaemia combined with this, who has lost motivation and still has lots of muscle wastage of muscles around wound I feel alone here where I hear of so many positives, where I have run out of energy, trying to get back to normal on the hip side, still limping and at times I still need a walking stick.
would appreciate some success stories.

i didnt have an infection but I suffered 6 dislocations! first advice I would give you is do not read up about hip infection on the internet because you will frighten yourself to death. of course you feel dissapointed , its enough to get anyone down. Unfortunately it will take time to sort this out but you are not the first to have this complication and you will get better. You are not alone , perhaps you could join bone smart which is a great site for people who have had joint replacements and you will find others that have been through the same experience and have come out the other side enjoying a pain free life.
best if luck

I'm so sorry that you've had such a difficult time. It's not surprising that you've lost motivation. There are people on the site who have had infections, and maybe one of them will see your post and reply.
Try to keep going. 5 months is still quite early. I was told it can easily take up to a year to fully recover, and for me that was certainly true. Take things steadily, try to keep mobile, use your stick when you need to.
I wish you all the best.

My mother had infection in her new hip. She then had a replacement one though.

I suggest you go to bonesmart.org... go the the hip replacement recovery forum. There are a number of people there who have had hip infections. It is a really helpful support network.
