Hip level pain in back?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I am prone to recurring back in my back. It’s just above hip level and to the side. Sometimes both sides, but often one side or other. It’s a gripping, cramp like pain, worse with movement. I always thought it was muscle strain, but my GI mentioned IBS this week because of upper abdominal pain I’m having. Could this back pain be IBS too? I’ve had this off and on for a couple years. I’ve notice this week that it does seem to morning the abdominal pain.

yes, those symptoms can be contributed to having ibs, caused by straining whilst on the toilet ,you can take buscopon which is an anti spasm medication which will help you,you can either buy them in supermarkets or get them prescribed by your gp

Thanks! I alternate between IBS-C and -D. Haven’t had the -C in a few weeks though so not much straining. The pain does change with BM though, so I believe there’s a connection. It’s always something.

    Could be IBS.

    Try COLPERMIN  and BUSCOPAN.

You can get COLPERMIN over the counter from a chemist.

Not sure if yu can buy BUSCOPAN over the counter from a chemist but you can get them from MORRISONS

If you find they help you can get both on prescription.

    Hope this helps

Take care and keep in touch
