Hip pain near groin two days after exercise

I put this in another forum but maybe this is a better place.

A few days ago I went to the gym for the first time in months. I did use both the hip abductor and adductor machines, but I also did a bunch of upper body things, more so than my legs.

My hip only started to hurt yesterday and it hurts a lot. The rest of my body was sore but it was already going away by the time my hip started to hurt.

It hurts to move my leg a certain way and to stand or walk. The pain also seems to be radiating down my leg. The pain also kept me up last night.

Is this normal after exercising, or did I injure myself? It feels a bit different from the pain I had in my upper body from lifting weights.

Should I do some more exercises involving my hips to make my body used to it?

I forgot to mention that I have hypermobility syndrome

I have a very similar issue with the pain beginning deep in my buttock and radiating down my leg. This has been going on for a week and seems to come and go. I remember something weird happening while lifting my grandson up to snag a balloon at his birthday party recently.

I would be most interested in replies. I will give it a few more days before finding a chiropractor to help. For what it's worth, the pain disappears while on my daily 25 mile bike ride but reappears as soon as I get off the bike.

The pain now feels like an ache, and it hurts to move my leg in certain ways and it really starts to hurt if I'm walking.

    Is this normal?
