Hip / pelvic pain

This month I've had hip / pelvis pain on my left side practically the whole month.  Normally it is "just there" kind of in the background but yesterday and today it is so painful when I stand up or walk that I have such a bad limp because of the pain.  Does anybody else have this?  I haven't been diagnosed with endo and all the dr's tell me I don't have the classic symptoms of endo.  I started taking Qlair this month and I am now on day 12 and I usually suffer from pains during ovulation and not during periods.

I started to question myself this morning if maybe it's something else and not endo like maybe I should go to an orthopedic surgeon?  Any suggestions?

Wishing for a pain free day

Jodi

Hi jodie. .. I have been scanned and shown possible dermoid cyst on my left ovary but told my pain might be possible endometriosis .. I have had pains all over my tummy and sides and the last few months my right leg all the way in to my foot has been agony to walk...like something is on a nerve ...I just don't know but not coping with the pain ...I was told to take microgynon for 3 months no break and specialist said if the pain in my tummy stops it's endometriosis I'm not sure he can diagnose that way...but I have been taking it and still in pain ....I see him next Thursday. ..hope you get answers as I've been trying for 13 years now

Hi I went to the Doctor with intramenstral bleeding and they found servere endo but i didn't have any extreme symptoms. I have read that women with serve endo don't nessesarily exhibit symptoms but ones with mild endo can have extreme symptoms and pain. ask your doctor for a scan and see if this can get you referred to a specialist. endo is stimulated by hormones, mainly estrogen, so taking drugs which stop your hormones will stop the symptoms. your doctor, Amy, can have a fairly good idea if it is endo if taking mircogynon stops the symptoms. there is alot of anecdotal evidence to support diet as a way of minimising and potentially reversing endo, things like red meat and dairy are out and plenty of greens and friuts and complex carbs. there are some books on amazon which give food list and great recipes. it wont do any harm to increase the good food in your diet and may potential help with the pain. good luck

Afternoon Jodi, sorry to hear you are again suffering this month what you have written has made me reply as I too have started suffering with left sided hip pain like you it is painful to walk and also hurts to sit down this first started a few weeks ago but calmed down but yesterday it flared up again, not sure if it connected to my cycle I am day 3 of my period as I never used to suffer with this symptom or maybe I need to be seeing my GP as it could be completely unrelated. I think you should go and have a chat with your GP think I might be taking my own advice shortly if this pain carries on. So fed up with being in pain.

Hi. Though it could quite easily be an infection or trapped nerve it's worth asking for a scan as they can tell a bit and will show up cysts. I have normal periods at 26-28 days no more than normal cramps but was getting sharp pain and niggling pain which seemed to be getting worse so thought I'd just get checked out. Scan showed large cyst so was told let's see if it sorts itself as they can. 6 months later they decided it looked more like endo what they call chocolate cyst and unfortunately only try diagnosis can be done by laparoscopy. Sharp pains were bothering me so decided to go for it and turned out I was riddled and fused ovaries and uterus to bladder which was cause of sharp pains. This was cleared and I feel fine but know it will come back. Further treatment all down to age if you want kids etc so then depends on age etc. You may have nothing like this but you Dont have to have bad periods to have endo. Ask all questions you want. I'm happy to help and have had loadsa help from others on here when I was going through it all. Good luck x
