I don't know if it is ok or not but i do know 14 weeks out is not very long. Unfortunately I had a lot of complications and a bad outcome. My second surgeon always told me that a lot of the quirky pains that crop up usually go away in 6 months and final healing does not occur until one year. Physical therapists also told me the same thing. Not sure if this is going to help. My experience is that in the early stages, a surgeon won't pay much attention to most complaints unless they point to an infection, loosening of the prosthesis, or blood clot

morning Alan, that something pressing against your hip is exactly what it is, the artificial hip, it will be the ball of the artificial hip that sits into the cup, if you ever lay on your side maybe a bit of D.I.Y you can feel the ball ...its not a nice feeling at all.

But as commented by Susan 14 weeks is nothing you can go by, every persons recovery is different, some faster some slower, but the golden rule is take everyday as it comes, maybe walk one day rest the next day, people so.etimes don't realise that you have had major intrusive surgery and your body has to get used to a foreign object that you have now got.

I am 2 years plus from having my left hip done and it's never been the same since, as mentioned we are all different, I shouldn't worry too much about it at this stage, as Susan mentioned..surgeon's don't seem to bothered as this is the healing process.

rest one day, exercise the next and you will be fine.

    Take care

    Graham

    Alan,

I used to feel like I was sitting on a rolled up towel around by the scar. It is normal to have various aches, twinges etc., you are still healing inside.

    Hi!

I agree with all the comments on here, probably just the hip itself you are feeling or it could be scar tissue. I always say if it bothers you to the point that you are focused on it every day then it doesn't hurt to get a xray. I have done that just for my sanity! Hope this helps.
