hip replacement

Hi everyone I haven't been on here for some time now, I had my last hip replacement in 2015, my question is this,,, in the last few days I've been getting pain in my left hip and it radiates down the side to my knee, it got so bad on Sunday I had to take codeine, then it seemed to go away, but just now it started again, I can't see my surgeon as I lived in Scotland when I had my opp. and now I live in Derbyshire, the healthcare down here is not so good . and with covid it's impossible to see a surgeon for an x-ray just to check everything's ok, has anyone else years post opp experienced this?
many thanks for any help or advice , Lynne.

Do you think you have got sciatica?

Hi Lynne,
Have you rang your surgery and had a word with them. Our GP has disappeared like others have but, my hubby rings up and has managed to get hospital appointments, for a couple of things, try it.
I had my hip op in April 2018, in the last two months it has been uncomfortable and on some occasions very painful, the other hip has started going now as well. When it is too painful to walk, I tend to rest it, until it settles again. I do a lot of exercise therefore, I am assuming I over work it.
Hope you can get it sorted soon.

I'm in Scotland and I can tell you that you need a referral from your GP before a surgeon will see you, even privately.
I would contact your GP and request an x ray after describing your symptoms.
