Hip replacement, supporting bone health

Posted , 5 users are following.

a homeopathic doctor recently gave me this advice and I thought I'd share it with my fellow hippies, I've already started to follow this advice I'm 2 weeks post op.

So, this Doctor told me that calcium is very important for healing bones ( my femur also got fractured in my thr surgery), but apparently the body struggles to absorb calcium in tablet form, he suggested the following.

buy some organic eggs, when you have used the eggs wash the shells and then boil them for 10 minutes and leave them overnight to dry, once dry grind them in a pestle and mortar, or better still a coffee grinder or nutribullet if you have one, when they are a fine powder store them in an airtight jar or Tupperware and sprinkle a teaspoon full each day on food maybe your morning porridge, in my case I add a spoonful to my morning smoothie...

As I said I don't know if this works, but it sounds like it should and I have it on good authority that it does.

      I'm good thanks  Renee,

      hope you are too.

cabin fever hasn't set in yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time...

fyi I did start with the pestle and mortar but it's a long arduous process, and you will need to pull out the inner membrane on the shell if you do it this way, hopefully it's worth it...let me know.

Interesting ... I knew one needed vitamin d for calcium to be absorbed and the other nutritional advice I got was to increase these, protein intake and vitamin C and e.

    Take care and thanks,

Years  ago I stopped taking my calcium and have wondered if it may have contributed to theis needing a hip replacement, perhaps it is time to take it again!

I wish you all the best!
