Hi...a combination of ibuprofen, paracetomol and tramadol worked for me for a while and now 1 week post op they seem to be working as I've no real pain...just swelling and soreness......

my doctor advised morphine patches if everything else stopped working but i never tried those....

Congratulations on your op, very pleased that all went well.

I have tried all of those that you mentioned, perhaps I didn't take them for long enough.

There is 9 months waiting list for my surgery!!!

Thank you for your help. Mary

Hi Mary, fortunately for me I have BUPA cover which costs a fortune but now of course I think is worth every penny!! I made my decision for the op in January and chose 10 th Feb.....must admit the pain in my hip had got to crisis point and I couldn't have gone on for another 9 months. Hope you can get some better pain relief...ask about the patches they might help....
