The weekend is upon us and if there are any of you who are planning a night out.....a candle lit dine-out with some wine and then a dance afterwards....please first check out the playlist.....if you see any twist and shout type stuff....stay away....I know that is our era , but maybe that is why we needed hip replacements in the first place....maybe rock'& roll was to blame.....even if that is the case...dam I dddddddo miss those days........

I also miss those days as well. My hip replacement according tomy surgeon is due to wear and tear and my pelvis is not aligned its crooked. smile

I loved dancing the hip hop times, back flips, front flips, lol

stuff stuff lol im still recovering.

Yesterday at my physiotherapy session the therapist told me im ready for you. I was doing the squat exercise with the ball against the wall and on my back i do the squat with two dumbell 12 pound weights, as i squat i have to do bicep curls doing 3 sets of 10 reps until he tells me im ready when you are, so I picked up the weights and ran torack them lol i couldn't believe i have done that. I slowed the heck down.

This weekend may not be a good one news announced snow, or mix of rain and snow. back in the days that never held us back from dancing right lol.

That squad against the wall is a killer....luckily my gym session consists of a different program......I am getting ready for our national championships in April next year...so I still have some time. I have entered a athletics meeting tomorrow night under lights and only events for me are shotput and javelin....my 4th since the opp. and they are now all markers to see what my progress is..

I suppose just thinking about making a difference also makes a difference in ons's own situation....keeping that muscle between the ears going keeps emphysis away from your own problems.....

      Hi Nic

You are right about the muscle between the earsbiggrin

Thats why I volunteer for our arthritis care branch.

We have drop ins a couple of times a month in various places and people come past, se the Arthritis Care  sign and stop and ask questions

We do our best to answer them or at least sign post them to someone who can.

I find it takes my mind of my own pain or problems.....dealing with theirs.

      A lot of what I tell them is "do as I say not as I do"cheesygrin  like pacing themselves {I'm the worst person for that LOL}

What with that, committee meetings for the branch etc that muscle keeps working most of the timewink

    Hi Nic

Yes I was a "twister" too and loved to jive.  Mine was also the era of the hula-hoop!! When you think about it I guess we really didn't have much chance of escaping dickie hips!

Oh my word...the hoola hoop....I have forgotten about that....wonder how much hoola hooping has to do with hip joint degeneration.....but alas...ware and tare is blamed for it but that is a falacy as well. I have been very active in sport all my life , but I also know patients who never did anything and also ended up with THR....for women the degeneration could be hormone related....calsium is taken from the bones and the result is weaker bone structure...porous and there you have osteoporosis.......

    Hi Nic

How can it be wear and tear....it annoys me when GP's give out that diagnosis

What about juvenile arthritis....how can that be wear and tear??exclaim

As for your hippy hippy shake shake.....I wishcheesygrin

I used to love that/jive/twist etc.....the mind boggles when I look back on  itwink

Was at the gym today......You know its a local gym not a hospital one but I have been referred by my GP to Healthy Life sessions where certain days and times there are trainers that are qualified to watch what you are doing and say you shouldnt be doing this......This is only my 3rd week so its just a bicycle where arms and legs move together....... dont know the name    LoL    today he upped the time by a couple of minutes, then the treadmill/walker......that was upped by about 3 mins and then an ordinary recumbant bicycle....upped that for an extra 2 mins

then stretches.....That will be nothing to you but to me who isnt really fit its a loteek

So tonight I'm sore.....correction......not painful......muscle sore.  Muscles shouting what have you been doing to mecheesygrin  So am ready to go to bed and have loads of gel onwink

Yep...all sounds good.....moving is important because deep vain thrombosis is always a threat. I think things start going wrong later when we think we know it all now and dont continue with instructions....I think Google is probably the worst thing that could have come along....suddenly we are all diagnosing everything .....not saying that you are doing it...just a thought....

    Morning Nic

Yes you have to keep on the go......to whatever extent you can.

For your sanity as much as your physical healingcheesygrin

The internet is the worse thing that ever came along as far as people diagnosing themselves.

    Great for things like this.

I do google but only after I've seen a consultant or doctor and I have forgotten exactly what he said about a med I was to take or he mentioned something that I didnt quite understand. I sit with my copy letter beside me and google the odd word that he has typed that i didnt understand. Dont know about there but I am copied into all correspondence that goes to my GP and its not always quite the same as I've picked up at the appointment.

Well I'm off to my yoga glass in a couple of hours.....still achey from yesterdaycheesygrin but not pain.

My main concern today is its quite a bit away, the A1 is closed ....well certain lanes are .....it changes each time. Its mad!!!!!!! and its pouring with rain. I know stress doesnt help pain but I will be stressed by the time I get there.

So many people self diagnose and thats where it becomes dangerous.
