hi

i have this chronic uti for 3 months .

i m now on cefalaxin for 6 weeks . its been 10 days but i have felt little to no difference in my symptoms . i have constant burning sensation .

is it normal for symptoms to stay after 10 days of antibiotics ?

My urologist has asked me to start taking hiprex along with antibiotic .

does anyone has any experience of hiprex?

does it work and how long it takes to work?

Many Thanks

Sarah

I have heard good things about Hiprex but was told by my Gp they can't prescribe it as it has been taken off the formulary . Because i guess the lack of research for cost effectiveness. But i know Urologists can still prescribe.

    Hi Sarah

I have been using hiprex for the last two years and I have had no infections. I have a urostomy since 2002 and was on antibiotics for 15 years and still getting an infection and admitted to hospital with sepsis.

hiprex has worked so well I'm back at work

sometimes it can be hard to get at the chemist due to the manufacturer

Thanks Ian for your reply . it has given me hope . How long does it take for Hiprex to work ?

I have heard Hiprex takes time to see the difference.I have been on 4 different antibiotics and nothing has worked .

its been a month i am off from work .

I have found hiprex from my local boots on prescription . I hope it will work for me too .

    The hiprex worked very fast

just make sure your urine is acidic

I did it by eating tomatoes

my GP does dip stick test every month to check the acid levels
