Hi Tim - yes, welcome to the world of Tinnitus. Not much fun. I've dealt with mine for over 30 years at various tones and pitches deriving from both ears. Very annoying. Mine also comes with some hearing loss, menieres disease and hyperacusis. You might want to see an ENT doc early on and see if he sees anything in the early stages. You may get lucky. Can you pinpoint anything that might have set the hissing off, such as loud music or other noise, medication, a cold or flu, or anything out of the ordinary? Even things long term such as being a musician in a band or constantly listening to loud music. Being the recipient of an explosion of any kind.

Again, my suggestion is to get it checked. The sooner the better. Again, I'm hoping you're one of the lucky ones because there's really no cure for tinnitus and it's miserable and quite annoying. It won't kill you but it's certain to alter your quality of life.

Keep us posted! Wishing you the best!
