Hit my ribs & pelvis on a concrete bench

Posted , 3 users are following.

I got into a motorcycle accident last night and I hit my ribs (right part) on a concrete bench. Also the part around my pelvis (not sure with the right term for that). Of course, it hurts. This morning, I noticed a bruise on the pelvis part (or the pelvic bone or whatever it is called).

Right now, I feel a burning kind of pain on those parts. I also find it quite hard to breathe and walk (or stand for too long).

It was my first time to experience that but I'm aware that it's normal to feel such pain. My concern is, how long will the pain last. And what more to expect (with regards to pain) after having involved in such situation.

I was advised to get checked up (xray) but still undecided.

Can someone help me, please.

    Hi Hass

I personally would go to the A&E to get an XRay even if it just ends up being bad bruising. Better safe than sorry. When I hurt my wrist I thought it would just be bruised but was surprised the XRay showed a bit of bone broken away and a fracture.

Also when I was at home I was sat at the table and I didn't want to get up to get the pen from the settee where I left it, so I stretched across and somehow slipped and knocked my ribs on the side of the settee. My ribs were really sore and I couldn't even  take a deep breath properly without it hurting. When I asked my Dr he said I'd probably bruised it and not to worry, I think he said it would take anything up to a week or two before it feels any better. But this wasn't a proper accident like yours so I would definitely get yourself checked out.

Let us know how you get on.

      Thanks for your response. smile

I already had an X-ray test this morning. I'll just wait for the result later (afternoon).

      Hoping for a good result.

I'd go to a&he whenever you can, if your breathing deteriorates, go straight there or in an emergency ring 999!
