hiv symptoms. tongue sores

Hi friends,

After 2 weeks of a sexual exposure, I have got two small bumps/sores on the upper surface of my tongue (towards the root of the tongue, not near the tip). They are not itchy (very slightly I would say) and I dont have problems with swallowing even with that sores.I dont haveany other sores on mouth part except the tongue. I have no fever, no sore throat, no swollen nodes , no big headache and no skin rash (though one or two tiny dots on chest).

Would a hiv symptom be just one single symptom (like the mouth or tongue sores)?

Is tongue sores a valid symptom of HIv primary infection?

I feel like I have swollen lymph nodes, which might be because I keep touching them many times a day. Would that cause swelling?

Any comment would relieve my worries. Thanks in advance.

    I've never came across swelling of the tongue as one of the first symptoms of hiv. I do believe they say rash first and then the rest of the other symptoms might follow. I do am in the same position as you are and I'm awaiting my second hiv test on the 17th of next month. What you can do is take a test to help ease your mind. I believe there's a rapid test that takes about a week to give you your results

    Hi Rajesh, it is impossible to diagnose HIV by symptoms alone. Keep in mind the same symptoms can be caused by many other scenarios including nervousness - and many times HIV will show No symptoms at all for many years. The only way to know for shure is to be tested at the suggested time after last contact. After about 10 more weeks you should be able to get accurate test results. Ask your GP or GUM clinic staff about your "risk" activity and how long they suggest to test after last contact. Meanwhile try not to worry and rely on the facts of the test.

    Personally, I have worried tremendously and experienced EVERY HIV symptom I read about - but tested negative anyway. Point is wait for the test results and don't obsess over the info you read on the net about possible symptoms. Good Luck and Always Play Safe going forward.

      I have also every symptoms of hiv still after 4months antibody test is nagative .

      Still I am afraid of.

      Please suggest me what should I do.

    Hi Rajesh was wondering how you got on, I'm currently going out my head with worry and I've had the same symptoms as you with a small sore on my tongue. Hopefully get my result back today

      I received oral sex from a man but nothing else, now about 2 weeks later I have a small red Patch on my tongue. It's freaking me out. My mouth feels dry but that could be down to anxiety

      I am some things ok now but symptoms still persist.

      Armpit pain

      some time tongue ulcer

      Weak Ness

      Knee pain

      Skin rushes

      Etc

      I never go to any doctors

      Only tested HIV antibody day by day.

      Pls reply anyone if active

      Actually patient forum don't shows notification on time

    Guys,

    You are asking for a reply on a 3 years old thread. I don't think he can reply.

    But I can respond. It was the same case as myself 19months before. I am still negative and see various symptoms till now. Dr's are not able to find any diagnosis yet, been to 4 infection specialist, 3 gp's and 2 GI. Not solved yet. Seems this also contagious via saliva probably that's how I got.

    Try to cure your stomach to reduce symptoms. Oral issues are temporary comes and goes.

      I am still the same, better than before. 

      I have increased by immunity by following Sidha medicines, allopathy did not help without any diagnosis. If you are in similar case, try to heal your stomach & perform yoga classes. Hope this answers.

      And if you are negative after 3 or 6 months, you will be negative always. 

      I suspect this will be CFIDS.

      Sunita .I am not well .my sore throat and white tongue kills me every day specially early in the morning .I can't able to figure out the issue .I tested for hiv 8 times in 19 months,all results came back negative ,did chest x Ray ,everything was normal including thyroid test .so I am totally helpless

      Thanks for feedback .Wish you good health.I will try this .Yes I tested for hiv after one year .it was both antibodies and antigen test.But still my heart says I am hiv positive.Doctor didn't allow me to do hiv pcr dna test .

      But it is sure that you won't be positive after 3 months negative test so don't worry. We all are HIV negative.

      Hi Ravi,

      If you are in india, just walkin Apollo and ask for NAT test. It includes PCR test for HIV.

      My question is

      If you married did you transferred your symptoms to your spouse.

      I mean how is your wife.

      And is she HIV negative?

      After 18 months I tested for hiv not just one test .almost 6 tests I did in this time period .Is it possible that my body didn't produce antibodies..I am not on bed.Everything is fine just only these symptoms

      No Ravi don't worry 3 months HIV test is conclusive.

      So pls avoid what ever your symptoms.

      Just ignore and stay happy

      Do yoga and drink plenty of water.

      You are in China ?

      Google with "hiv like virus in china" it's most mystery virus from past 20yrs many are infected but no diagnosis and solution yet.

      I studied about the virus it is not contiguous as hiv virus .After few years it become dormant .which test is best to rule out hiv ..hiv rna quantitative or qualitative,or hiv dna quantitative or qualitative really confused about these tests.Do you have any idea

      Actually I wanted to know whether you transferred your symptoms to your spouse.

      I am afraid because i am going to marry soon.

      I know it is not hiv.

      But scared about the symptoms ll transfer to my wife.

      My physical condition is not bad.

      No weight loss at all.

      But sometimes i feel weakness.

      And skin rushes and armpit pain but not swelling lymph nodes.

      Yes seems I transferred my wife and kids also have similar symptoms. Checked blood tests it's clear.

      Due to physical contact your kid got similar symptoms I don't believe on this ?how could it be possible
