Hiya everyone I have just joined this group I've been on amitriptyline 50mg at night for about five years now, iam getting trouble wiv my memory thinking of dropping the dosage see if gets any better any one else get this please xx

Yes I have just dropped from 75mg to 50mg and there was no side affects. In my case.
I take this medicaton for Nerve and Tendon Damage. I do have a conjenital short term memory complaint that I am learning to control.
Amytryptalene is an AD Medication and I am taking various other medications including Opiate type drugs, so they have considered my condition is related to the drugs I have taken for over thirty years.
If you are taking this drug as a sleeping tablet your could try a reduction to 25mg, although discuss that with your GP

Thankyou for replying to me I take it for fibro pain and migraines and anxity iam just frightened iam losing my memery don't want to give it up completely just hope it will improve wiv a lower dosage xx

You could try the lower voltage, in my case I suffer from a rare form of Arthritis and have had instruction from Pain Clinic. In my case I negotiate and control my own medications. In your case you need to discuss a new way forward. You could try and reduce the dose and see how you go. If your condition needs that 25mg it will tell you and them move back to the original dose. Memory problems may be caused b medications you take. they can also come about from getting older, I am sixty six, nearly seven and they went through five weeks of tests to make sure it was not a Dementia. If you are concerned and you are in mid/late, fifties/sixties discuss all with the GP

Hi thankyou for your reply I had the dr ring me this morning he agreed maybe a lower dose may be better so he's done me a scipt for all 10mgs instead of one 50mg tablet he told me to take 40 mg for a week then 30mg for a month see how I go from there xx
