Hi Maria, It's good to be the first person to confirm your symptoms of reflux. Actually I would say you are experiencing what is known as "silent reflux" and the hoarsness you describe is typical. I am also a sufferer and have tried most offered remedies with no real success.
It's always smart to have an examination by a Dr. who specializes in problems of this sort so a visit to a Gastroenterologist or ENT would be smart.
From there you will possibly have an endoscopic examination and a medication prescribed.
Good Luck and be well
If I can be of further assistance don't hesitate to ask.

You are not alone.
I have the same problem and have had it for some years now. Mine is aggravated by a slight hiatus hernia I have. Been to the Doctor numerous times and instead of taking a pill to control it, I found the best way to manage it, was with what I eat and drink. Low fat diet, no greasy foods, no fizzy drinks, caffeine free drinks, Basically reducing anything with a high acid content or taking drinks that will aid the acid rising back up my throat. Works for me and is healthier. The proof is when I eat a portion of chips, within about an hour I get a soar throat, with a cough, no heartburn though.
