I am having a hysterectomy at the end of June & I am booked to go to Spain Sept 5th about 10 weeks after operation. Can anyone tell me if I will be fit to travel then?

    Hi Kay

I had TAH BSO 18 months ago and I would say probably ok to go but make sure you don't overdo it and you will definately still be healing internally. The hospital let me keep the DVT stockings I wore for 3 days post op and said they could be used as flight socks so remember to wear some flight socks. Also make sure you don't do any lifting. That is very important- are you going with anyone who can handle your luggage for you? No lifting really does mean no lifting if you don't want any set backs.

I am having my op next Friday June 6th. Man o Man I can not wait. I am flying to Spain on Aug. 31 I was told I would be fine to travel after 6 weeks but again no heavy lifting or over doing it. I am litally going to be laying on a sunbed for 7 days with my husband. I am only having uterus removed but am putting a ? on that as I was told my ovaries are fine but he won't know until he gets me open. Best luck to us all
