HOLIDAY ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

Well, it is that time of year again. The time when we are supposed to be happy, kind and generous. However, it only makes me depressed and anxious. I have a hard time being around groups of people, so this time of year makes me anxious. I am broke, so it makes me sad that I cannot buys gifts. What do you guys do to get through the holidays? Please help.

.....lots of Christmas gin, only joking, I don't drink. Seriously though I worry about Christmas, we can't afford to buy anyone presents this year only for our son. It comes round so quickly, every year I say we're going on holiday next Christmas lol! I even turn the adverts off because it's all about Christmas and spending money most of us haven't got! I get so stressed on Christmas day with family over and I can't wait for the day to be over! Just take it one day at a time, you've done this before (getting through Xmas ) you can do it again. Take care x

Well maybe gin could be the answer.  smile No, I don't drink either. I take too many meds for that. I am only buying for my grandson this year. He is just 13 months old. He should be a lot of fun around the Christmas tree this year. I guess I do have something to look forward to. I pray there is a Christmas miracle for you this year Pamela. Thanks again. ((Hugs)).

i am depressed, anxious, and broke all year round, but the holidays do bring on more struggles. getting together with family and friends is stressful for me. i'm more likely to overeat and drink around the holidays. can't wait for it to be over. try to pick out one thing about the holidays that make you happy. i do love the decorations. looking forward to go out walking and seeing all the festive lights on homes. i hope you feel better!

Hi Laura, Thank you for the comment. I have a 13 month old grandson. It will be fun to watch him open presents this year. I also love to take a drive and look at all the pretty Christmas lights. There is always some good if we just look for it, huh. Tomorrow will be nice to hang out with my Mom, sister and niece. I don't think I will get to see my son or grandson tomorrow. Like you, I will get through it all.
