Holiday Vaccinations

has anyone been denied holiday vaccines for far   off places because they are taking pred???

    It all depends on the vaccination. If it is done with a dead vaccine it is fine. If it is done with a live vaccine it is not a good idea to have them when taking pred. There are 2 problems: one is you may develop the illness from a live vaccine because your immune system doesn't fight the infection. The pred suppresses your immune system - so that also means you may not develop the antibodies to protect you even with the dead vaccines.

      Still do your own homework - I wouldn't necessarily believe the assurances of some GPs. Make sure it isn't live vaccine and if necessary call the Institute of Tropical Medicine to ask them.

    I am supposed to travel in July and not sure but planning to askmy Dr on my next visit.
