Holidays can be difficult time for someone with reflux

As someone who has had acid reflux for many years, I do not take meds anymore but control it with watching what and when I eat and drink.
Unfortunately at holiday time, I don't always know all ingredients in the food that is served when I'm not at home. Parties can be difficult for the symptoms of reflux.
One thing that does help me is to have water nearby so I can take frequent sips in between eating. I know I have to also be careful with wine and other alcoholic beverages as they can irritate the reflux, too.
It's a matter of enjoying the food and drink and realizing that I may have to suffer for bit for the fun of the holidays.
Wondering how others deal with this.

Hi. I had acid reflux for 5 years. Common treatment do not solve my problem. Ultimately, doctors tell me the root of your problem is nervous. I came to the psychiatrist and after treating different medications, I finally got treated with "Nortriptyline".
After two weeks of taking my recovery, I began to counteract.

There are a variety of treatments for acid reflux including medications that decrease acid production or coat the stomach.
Acid reflux can has many physical and emotional causes. Being stressed or anxious causes an increase in stomach acid, which in turn can trigger acid reflux.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach.
When you mentioned "the root of your problem is nervous" wasn't accurate in my situation as there are been many times that the food triggers have affected me. I've figured out how to avoid that happening with no meds as I mentioned in my original post.
Good that you have something that helps for your situation.
