Home blood pressure monitor

I am looking for recommendations for an accurate home monitor. I have an Omron 5 series arm monitor that I bought a few months ago. It seems to have been working fine, but now It seems to get accurate readings then out of the blue I’ll get an extremely high bottom number. I’ll get freaked out and take a 2nd reading back to back and it can go down 25 to 40 points. Then I’ll take a third reading a minute later and it’s crazy low! That’s happened a few times. I don’t think I can rely on this machine. Any recommendations????

FYI. I have a Boots version of your machine and somtimes I get some obscure reading. Its not that the machine inaccurate our bodies are tempremental and the slightes incident like the phone ringing during the time you are taking your reading can make your BP rise.

I have since learnt to be quiet and just keep my thoughts to myself, except when they take NO Notice of my Omron readings and make comments about why I would be wasting my time having one, then I get annoyed, and make my feelings abundantly clear, even complaining to his consultant, not advisable to cross me.
Well in my husbands case it has saved his life 5 times now, when I get suspicious his heart failure has suddenly taken a turn for the worst, the first thing I do is slap the blood pressure monitor on him, a couple of times have got ridiculous readings, I change the batteries and all is well again, also do not assume even new batteries are good, I have struck brand new batteries that had no power in them.
Know what your normal readings are, I asked our heart specialist to write it down for me in a little book I keep, small school exercise book, I keep a diary of husbands weight, and blood pressure, especially if he is off colour, or I suspect he is headed for trouble, a lot of extra coughing, sudden change in his weight, and or complaining of unexpected pain, if his blood pressure changes by 10% I take him back to the heart hospital to get him checked out, he has been admitted each and every time, and as above I am getting good at saving his life, each of those 5 times his condition was potentially life threatening.

i am supposed to be taking my blood pressure for a week before returning to Dr but too scared to take it! Every time I look at it my heart rate goes up!! Will have to discuss with Dr again I think. Trying to avoid a 24 hr monitor strapped to me !

The ones most GP's use don't cater for AF. The first Omron one I had bleeped your heart rhythm as it took it. I asked my GP why he did not use one like that and he we had one but it frightened the patients :-)
