What meds are you on ? I know the feeling of desperation as I woke up with it one morning and within 5 weeks was totally bed ridden. That was over 20 years ago. After a year Dr. got me onto MTX and it worked great for about 20 years then lost it's effectivness. Yesterday I started Orencia with the MTX so waiting for that to kick in. Takes 5 to 6 weeks to fully kick in.

Hang in there and good luck.

its just a question of getting the right balance of drugs and pain releif for YOU as everyone is differant

It dkes take more than just the right drugs or pain relief. It takes being very proactive in researching how to regulate stress, as well as researching and strictly regulating which foods are highly inflammatory and substuting (sugars, milk products, gluten, soy, spaghetti sauce, etc) as well as taking a very balanced regume of a multi vitamin, vitamin d3, calcium carbonate, magnesium glycunanate and fish oil. Many of the RA medicines do not work or cause painful all over conditions, as well as lowering of our immune systems causing more pain. The literature that comes with your prescription, states if you are in more pain in joints along with other toxic effects others talk about, that this is an allergic ir toxic effect and you must decide if the drug is doing enough good. The sulfa drugs is just an antibiotic which is what drs try first, methitrexate usually second, which many people do not do well in due to inducing more all over body infection and secondary conditions as it compromises your immune system. Some do well on the biologics (without adding methotrexate added to lower immune system). Also onve getting inflammation down, maintaining with 5 mg prednisone daily. A prescribed anti inflammatory such as mobic is crutial as is being very proactive in researching what things(foods, food sensitivities, unmanaged stress, diet, vitamins and minerals etc) cause inflammation and determine which medications are toxuc or not helping. Its hard to be specific when you do not disclose or share details in any way.
