Hope this is not a strange question but after taking sertraline for 3 weeks now...

I'm wonderting what normal will feel like.  I read discussions where they are feeling back to normal but it's been so long that I felt great and happy I'm wondering what normal will be.  If one day I wake up and don't have to fight off side effects or obsessed thinking?  I do everyday things and try to make the best of it but actually it just feels like my heart is not into it.  My doc did Ativan to carry me through the side effects of sertraline.

Part of this scares me because this sort of thinking could cause me to go into another anxiety attack because I don't feel like old self.  I guess I could cexplain it as preoccupied or brain fog, certainly not clear thinking.

Any thoughts?  Thank you.  Barb

Hanky.. I hope as time goes by the medication will kick in.  Other posters have said 3 - 4 weeks to start feeling better. I started my 3 rd week today.  Yeah!  I hope you start feeling better soon.  Talk to your wife, it helps to talk and talk and talk.  My husband's probably sick of me talking but sometimes I just don't know what else to do.

Actually feeling better today.  Mornings are the roughest for me.  Still a little jittery.  I'm only on 25mg of sertraline but originally my doc wanted me to cut that in half.  I'm drug sensitive and she thought the big side effects I was having was because of too high of dose.  I stayed at the 25mg dose.  My Internal Med doc didn't seem to know a lot about zoloft for side effects........or anxieity and depression for that matter.  I'm looking for a psych NP that could possibly handle my care in this department.  I'm glad to hear your doing better.
