Hormone Levels - Are Your Symptoms Worse During Periods?

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this group and THANKFUL I FOUND YOU ALL because I feel like I have so many uncomfortable symptoms that have started in the past few months 😦((((

I will be 50 in November and my periods have been very heavy but regular for years. Past few months I have had really bad aches and pains that seem to move around in my body. Left should blade pain to back pain to hip pain, sharp shooting pain in above my collar bone near my right shoulder, and a lot of upper abdominal pain below my ribs and that one travels around from one side to another and just kind of stays there all day. I just finished this month's menstrual cycle two days ago and some of the pain seems to be decreasing but my upper stomach area feels like there is still some pressure. This whole stomach pain has been worrying me a lot. The pain is usually pretty dull and more like a constant pressure but it lingers all day.

I had my hormone levels checked for the first time and they are: FSH 53.0, Estradiol <50, and Luteinizing Hormone 9.6

I can't find a good source to tell me what these values mean in terms of being near menopause. I think the FSH indicates a menopause level even though I still get my periods? I had the labwork drawn at the tail end of my period so I think that the levels fluctuate.

Do you ladies who do experience any symptoms have them constantly throughout the month regardless of whether you are on your period or do they seem worse during? Would appreciate you sharing how frequently you experience these nasty symptoms and if they seem worse during certain times and if you get upper stomach pain similar to what I have described, I would like to hear about it if you are open to sharing. I am just starting to become a little anxious about my overall health and I never used to worry so much. Thank you so much for reading and I hope someone replies.

definitely agree with Toria do not Google as my anxiety is through the roof!

Yep have had stomach issues, bloating, acid reflux and pain now on my lower rightside.

It's being investigated now. Had my endoscopy all clear apart from gastritis.

Had two breast checks as armpit and breast pain.

Going to see gynaecologist about my pelvis pain.

I'm constipated and bowel changes too. That's being investigated too.

I'm always calling the DR as my body isn't the same anymore. I got diagnosed with perimenopause in October and thank goodness my DR is amazing.

She's constantly sending me for bloods etc

Thank you both so much for replying!!! This is all so new for me so you can see why I am a little scared and quite worried. I have iron-deficiency anemia due to so much blood loss during my periods and have had to take iron for years. The anemia also comes with heart palpitations and light headedness and fatigue when my iron and hemoglobin are on the low side. These symptoms were manageable but then this month I got scared because of my stomach and body pains.

The stomach pains are crampy feeling and they just move around the entire stomach area all of the time. It's like a pressure and sometimes there might be a few sharp pains here and there and sometimes I feel it in my back, too. The back of my throat also feels raw like it's burning but when I look at it, it's not red or swollen.

The body pains are also so strange and pretty new to me, too. I have a pain in one of my knees that comes and goes and right now do not have the left shoulder blade pain but did have it for a few days last month. Sometimes when I sleep there's a sharp pain in my right hip that wakes me up but then it goes away the next day.

Do my symptoms sound similar to either of yours? And are your symptoms worse during your period and then better a few days after your period ends?
