I had to ask continually for 2 years for a hormone test to see if I was peri, all the doc kept saying was you're too young! I'm only 36 but test showed that's my estrogen was basically non existent! I hope to go for scans and a lot of other tests before the doctor did it, but eventually she gave in and did it! Just keep asking until they allow you to have the blood test X

Your gp can do a hormone test but as hormone levels fluctuate so much during the perimenopausethey don't tell you an awful lot only the level your hormones were on the day of the test. The reason you probably feel on a roller coaster of emotions is that your hormones are on the roller coaster too.

gps like you to ride it out naturally if you can but will eventually put you on hrt if you are at your wits end.

    Hi Sazzie

i wouldn't bother it isn't a very reliable test, that's why it isn't always offered, especially in peri, the test is more reliable for menopause. My docs did mine last year, but having talked to me about my symptoms she said I was peri, she did the test which she did say was not very good and it came back negative, but doc says I'm peri, periods all over, endless symptoms, anxiety and panic attacks been the worst and awful night sweats xx
