HORRIBLE DIZZINESS FROM XANAX.. HELPP!!

Yesterday i started using Xanax ( alprazolam ) for the first time in my life. First day i just felt tired and sluggish. Now day after im having horrible dizziness... In the morning when i woke up i felt so bad dizziness like never before in my life... I feel that dizziness when im laying in the bed or when i turn my head to side or when i stand up or walk.... dizziness lasts from 5 to 15 seconds and it appears more times a day and its very scary and horrible. Plus i felt nausea and vomiting whole morning..... Anyone experienced this or something similar from Xanax???? Is this normal when taking it for the first time??? Im so scared. Now this is raising my anxiety thru the roof.... Please helppp.

how many milligrams did you take? .25? .5? 1?
sounds like you have some vertigo going on which is major dizziness or spinning sensation and can include nausea .
get hydrated first of all. Drink lots of water to help flush some of it out. Don’t get dehydrated.
you are going to be OK just don’t take any more Xanax.
call your doctor and let him or her know what happened. The doctor will advise you from there. But try to keep your head still .
meds affect everybody differently and you may be extra sensitive to this one. How much did you take?

Yesterday i took 0.5 mg 3 times a day.... today i took 0.25 mg 3 times a day..... I called my doctor and told her about what happend..... She just said to lower my dose from 0.5 to 0.25 mg and to keep taking it.... I dont know what to do know? Should i try to take it for 2 weeks and if symptoms persist then to stop or should i stop immediately? I also got some other symptoms, not just dizziness... I got Tiredness, sleep problems, poor balance, slurred speech, trouble concentrating, irritability, headache, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth. I didnt have these symptoms before.... I got them while starting Xanax..... And yes im very sensitive to almost any medications....I saw that dizziness and all of these symptoms i mentioned are COMMON Side Effects from Xanax.I dont know what to do now...

so you can start by lowering the dose first. See how you feel. Xanax does cause tiredness and trouble with concentrating. etc.if you feel the same way after lowering the dose, let your doctor know. You could even ask your doctor if you can take it twice a day rather than three times a day. I’ve actually never taken it more than once a day but everybody is different.if it keeps making you feel that way, there might be another medication that’s better for you. I hope you feel better soon!

Im still not feeling good.... I feel nausea and dizziness all the time... I will stop taking xanax.Do you think i will not get withdrawal symptoms? I only took it for 3 days... Im so afraid now... I saw a lot of people getting withdrawal symptoms from it... But i think i should be ok because i didnt took it for a long period of time?

please relax. you shouldn’t have any withdrawal symptoms. It has not been long enough. Just contact your doctor and let him or her know you had to stop it and ask is there anything else you could try.
you’re going to be fine. This just wasn’t the medication for you. Like I said it’s trial and error.
in The meantime, try to relax your mind as much as possible. Nothing that has happened so far is life-threatening. And what I always had to do was try and stay out of my head. Focus on other things. Take a walk in nature, listen to relaxing music, anything that makes you feel calmer because the more you focus on the anxiety the worse it will become.
get on YouTube and listen to some relaxing meditations for anxiety. They helped me a lot. I turned off the news because it increased my anxiety and anything else that was similar. Drink lots of water to flush it out of your system.

Its weird but i have some withdrawal symptoms.... I feel brain zaps..... Electric shock feeling in the brain... Thats so weird... Only after 3 days of taking this stupid poison... I felt this same feeling few years ago while i stopped taking antidepressant. My body is hypersensitive to almost all medications... That is why im getting side effects from Xanax. I used Diazepam ( Valium ) for years and i never had any side effect from it... in 90% i had positive experiences with diazepam. But diazepam is not for treating panic disorder and health anxiety so thats why i accept to try Xanax when my new psychiatrist prescribed it to me few days ago... I thought that xanax is just a little bit stronger benzo than diazepam.... I never thought i would get this horrible dizziness and nausea and insomnia from it ... and i feel way more anxious from it than i was few days ago.... I will call him tomorrow and tell him that im not gonna drink this poison anymore. Tomorrow i should start taking Lexapro and now im scared to death to start taking it because of these side effects... Ill probably get new side effects from Lexapro. I feel so desperate. I dont believe in medications anymore.... I tried 2 years without any medications but i didnt get better... My health anxiety or somatic symptoms are the same.... Just panic attacks are less frequent than before...
