Horrible ear pain...I can’t cope!!

Hello everyone,

About 3 days ago I was at work and started getting flu symptoms. Then later on I started to get pretty painful headaches and earaches I both ears, I left work early and slept for 21 hours. I woke up later feeling ill but the earache had gone away. Later on in slept from 18 more hours.

Now today things haven’t taken a turn for the worst. My cold is feeling much better but I started to get severe pressure buildup In my right ear, the pain was pretty much toxic. I tried cotton wool, heat, hot and cold balm, noting really worked. I had constant popping that caused unbearable pain. Later on I had one final pop which although didn’t hurt too much it also didn’t go completely. Now it just feels like a dull pressure. I started taking fluxoccilin I think it is. But about an hour after the same thing has stated happening in the other ear, it’s even worse pain than before I’m in tears. I’ve taken codeine, Sudafed max, ibuprofen and naproxen which has only taken the edge of the pain. I don’t understand what’s happening.

Could this be an ear infection? How has the pain gone so severe from one ear to the other just like that?? It’s so painful and it’s not wax buildup. I haven’t had an ear infection in years but I can’t tolerate this pain...

Should I see my gp? Something

Doesn’t feel right but I’m worried it’s stupid

It does sound like a middle ear infection or even an abcess in your ear.    yes, definitely see your GP for a proper diagnosis and advice on treating. You may need something different to Fluxocillin.
