Yes I'm the same. I go to bed and read for half an hour and fall asleep as I am exhausted then after an hour I am wide awake and have to read again to feel sleepy - this goes on all night. I have sent away for some sleeping aid - hope they work. Getting worried as I read that lack of sleep can cause all kinds of probs??
Regards
J

Melatonin - they 'do' various strengths so I ordered the strongest - when it arrives and I try it I'll report back.

It is the worry of not sleeping that is preventing you from sleeping ..I had this for six mths read what guy meadow writes about insomnia.. one insomnia is normal and affects everyone at some point...don't worry about not sleeping..stay in bed unlike all these others who say get out of bed...resting is better than getting up and walking around...stop with negative talk..I can't sleep oh no here we go again....you will survive...he said look at an insomniacs bedside table full of books lavender .sleeping tablets etc..this can enhance sleep anxiety and fuel the anxiety even more..he is totally right...good luck..I was sleeping 12 hrs and awake 36...also other erratic sleep patterns...and deffo don't stop living go out exercise see your friends..don't let insomnia win and deffo don't label yourself an insomniac..you are just having trouble sleeping...

I had trouble sleeping for 17 years, it's because of my depressive state. I researched for my sleep disorder and from what I have gathered, I learned that a person should tire himself all day. Like doing some strenuous tasks, not drinking caffeinated or alcoholic drinks 6 hours prior to bed time, listening to soft and calm music, changing your pillow cases often, having a warm shower, lavender scent may also help, as well as drinking hot milk.
I also play video games to help tire my eyes an hour before sleep and make sure that your room is quiet and free from distractions. I'm insomnia free for almost 2 months now. Hope these could help you.

Hi, I have just received some OTC sleeping pills Melatonin and the bottle says 'may cause drowsiness'????
Saying that I did buy a packet of nuts that said 'may contain nuts' - what's the world coming to I ask myself??
