I have awful scars on my calves from multiple slow healing wounds. Has anyone had success with silicone pads? -- or any other idea? I am on 4.5 pred.
I look back and wonder why I was so clumsy and surmise my gait is abnormal because my spine is fused to the sacrum to maintain some correction of scoliosis. That coupled with the muscle weakness and bouts of bursitis.

Have you tried a skin protector, Dermatuff is a recommended brand and designed for people like us.
Others have recommended arnica to help promote skin healing but I have no personal experience with it.

These accidents happened earlier and, save the ugly scars, my skin is better now. I wear improvised arm and leg protectors of fabric. I actually bought Dermatuff for arms and legs but they are really too hot for my climate- maybe in winter or late Fall here.
